My shoes finally came last night around 7pm. What a wait! It had been two weeks since I ordered them, and though the company from which I bought them offers free returns if the size is wrong, I didn’t want to have to go through all that again. They are Brooks Radius 7’s. They fit perfectly! They are very light and soft. I was surprised. I even thought that maybe there was only one shoe in the box!
Though it takes getting used to walking in them, they were like running on clouds on the treadmill when I used them at 8pm. Yes, I did my W2D1 C25K session way after dinner! I was so pumped to have the shoes finally that I put them on an hour beforehand while we watched Kitchen Nightmares online (we love Gordon Ramsay). More about the run on my Week Two page…
I’ve been waiting two weeks for my new running shoes to come. After several unfruitful emails to the company shipping them, UPS finally has them in their hands — even on their truck this morning — yet, the UPS truck drove right past my house today. Is the driver lost? Is it on a later truck? I need to do my C25K W2D1 today, and my energy is running out FAST. I’ll have to wait until after dinner to do this, which I am not happy about. Stay tuned…
Tomorrow I’m going to start the C25K. Week one, day one. I’ll report back on the C25K page either later in the day tomorrow or on Tuesday. We’ve been so busy (9am-?pm) every day this weekend doing stuff around the house, and tomorrow is going to be no different (unless we finish early). I’m planning on doing the workout mid- to late-morning sometime, when there’s a half hour to take a break for it (or just do it really early). I’ll have more energy than I’d have if I waited until the afternoon. I’m still trying to decide on which podcast I want to use for this. The podcasts tell me when to walk and when to run in the workout so I don’t have to time it myself. Each has different music, and they’re both okay, but this is going to carry me through 9 weeks, but if I decide I don’t like the one I chose, I can always switch. I’d just like to start and end with the same one.
Okay, I’ll be back tomorrow or Tuesday with the report and how much I loved it or hated it. Either way, I’m going to keep going.
I can’t wait to get started. I’d have started yesterday, but the schedule would have been off. I’m planning on doing Monday, Wednesday and Friday (or Saturday), and starting on a Thursday would have gotten confusing in terms of keeping track of the weeks, not to mention completely messing up the days that work best for me with this program. I don’t want to start off on the wrong foot!
For now, I’ll just have to continue reading the forums to make sure I know what not to do and how to do things right, other people’s experiences, etc. so that I don’t form bad habits that will cause me injury. I want this to work out, and it’s exciting to me that I will be able to run for 30 minutes at the end of this program.
Have a great weekend everybody! We’re busy from now through Monday, so I might not have a chance to post. I’ll report back on Monday’s workout, the first one!
